I was in my classroom,
heading to the bathroom,
but before I could say dance room,
a pigeon and a magpie flew in.
My friends danced and pranced
but I just sat there;
I think I got the bird flu.
They screamed and ran;
I think I got the point,
so I joined the others.
When everyone stopped
it was done.
We came back inside and to everyone’s surprise,
there were feathers EVERYWHERE!

We just had a holiday in Fairhaven. It’s a beach on the Great Ocean Road. We got to see King Parrots and Kookaburras. We fed the King Parrots birdseed from our hands. They swooped out on our wrists and then ate from our hands. I had one on each hand!
My highlights were the King Parrots, obviously, and kicking the soccer ball with Dad on the beach. We went bushwalking. I thought it was bush walking, but it was really cliff walking! When we got to the top I saw the whole ocean. I thought it was fascinating!
I thought it was very fun watching movies at night. My favourite one was To Kill a Mockingbird.
I had my birthday there. I got a soccer ball from Ali and a skateboard from Mum and Dad. Also, we went out for dinner in Geelong with my Uncle Greg and Aunty Sally and my Mum came too! Because she was working in Melbourne but came to meet me on the train. We ate at a Mexican place. I had nachos and an ice-cream sundae.
I liked the holiday so go up there one time and see what I mean.
This morning I went to Auskick. I go there every Saturday. It's in Fitzroy. My friend Ben goes too! So when I got home today I decided to write a poem about footy, coz I love it!
Footy, footy, footy!
Footy is the best,
Chuck out the rest!
Footy is cool,
Too cool for school!
Footy is fun,
Fun, fun, fun!
So if you ask
what's my favourite sport,
It's footy, footy, footy!

Last year I lived in America for six months. I stayed with my family—my grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins—in Texas. My Papa lives on a farm. This is a poem I wrote about it. I hope you like it!
America
America's a lovely place: horses, goats and cows
America's a lovely place: rodeos, fairs and fun
America's a lovely place: Mexican food and beans
America's a lovely place: a good place to sleep
So when you can't figure out
which country to go to,
Just go the United States of America!
